After 25 years as a Head Chef in the hospitality industry, Guppy swapped the kitchen for the tools and turned his creativity and hands-on problem solving into The Wood Whisperer.

Looking for an alternative to traditional timber decking? The Wood Whisperer is a Certified Bamboo Specialist, trained in bamboo decking systems and installation methods.
Working in partnership with Plantation Bamboo, we are their certified build partner for the lower North Island. We are knowledgeable about building with bamboo and the benefits it brings, and we have extensive experience with builds under our (tool) belts (pun intended). We can incorporate bamboo composites into selected projects where appropriate for durability, sustainability and visual appeal.
